The HEGIAS.editor becomes the integrated HEGIAS.configurator

This update brings several major new features – including the new HEGIAS.configurator. It unites Floorplanner and Editor in a single tool – making work on your projects considerably more flexible. On top of that come a faster upload, simplified controls and further practical new functions.

Faster upload – without waiting times

Floor plans created in HEGIAS and models uploaded from the HEGIAS.roomscanner are now ready for further editing immediately. You can carry on working right away, without delay. If the model from the HEGIAS.roomscanner is not immediately visible, you can simply refresh the page. This does not apply to uploaded 3D models (e.g. IFC, FBX). For those, we still need some processing time before the model is ready for further use.

The new HEGIAS.configurator: Floorplanner and Editor united

Until now, drawing the floor plan (Floorplanner) and furnishing the space (Editor) were two separate steps. Now the HEGIAS.configurator handles both in a single tool.

The biggest advantage: you are no longer locked in. You can adjust the floor plan again at any time – even after you have already furnished the space. To do so, simply switch between two modes:

• Plan mode – here you edit the floor plan: walls, rooms and the basic structure. You can find a detailed guide here: Plan-Mode - Drawing Floorplans
• Interior mode – here you furnish the space: objects, materials and light.

You can switch back and forth at any time and as often as you like. So you no longer have to start over if something still needs to change in the floor plan (e.g. to delete a wall or add a window that the HEGIAS.roomscanner did not detect, etc.). Rooms that you have uploaded with the HEGIAS.roomscanner can also be adjusted directly in the HEGIAS.configurator right after upload. Adjusting the architecture of uploaded 3D models (e.g. IFC, FBX) is not yet possible.

More direct and simpler navigation

The controls in the HEGIAS.configurator have been extended and thereby simplified for navigation and configuration:

• Double-click / right-click an element (e.g. a wall) or objects (e.g. a washbasin) – the camera aligns automatically to the selected element. This takes you exactly where you want to work with a single click.

• Click or drag on the floor plan (see window on the right) – this moves the camera conveniently across the space or aligns it directly to your selection.

Please note: Displaying the floor plan is not yet possible with uploaded 3D models (e.g. IFC, FBX).

Splitting walls for separate materials

Walls can now be split – horizontally or vertically – so that you can apply different materials to the two areas. With a horizontal split, for example, you can represent half-height materialisation: tiles below, wall paint above, just as in reality. If you want to combine both, a wall can also be split vertically in the Room Plan view.

Splitting walls is not yet possible with uploaded 3D models (e.g. IFC, FBX). There, this can still be done with the Surface object (see: Surface material and surface editing).

Tools that adapt to your selection

The toolbar now adapts automatically to whatever you are currently editing. This means you always see only the tools that are actually relevant at the moment – clear and directly at hand. This makes operating the HEGIAS.configurator noticeably simpler and tidier.

Editing objects and materials directly from the selection

When you select a placed object or material in the HEGIAS.configurator, you now go directly to the corresponding entry in the library – without having to search for it there first.

• Objects: Select an object and click Adjust object in the menu. You go directly to the product's variant selection and can switch between the available versions.
• Materials: Select a material and click Show in library. You see all the details of the material and have it directly available again for drag & drop.
