Detect features in the model
When uploading the 3D model to HEGIAS, your model is analyzed and made available for virtual reality. During this process, the geometry is divided into the following categories:
Floors
Walls
Ceilings
Windows / Glass
Stairs
Others
In order for the geometry to be assigned to a category, it must already be correctly marked in the CAD / 3D program. The assignment is done according to the geometry names and works in German, English and Italian.
The recognition can also be deactivated in the advanced options of the HEGIAS VR Import.
The following section explains the different categories and their functions.
Floors are the most important category and there should be at least one Floor in each model. The following functions are only possible on floors:
Teleport
Place standing furniture (e.g. chairs)
The following keywords are recognized as floors:
The following functions are only possible on walls:
Place attached furniture (e.g. pictures).
The following keywords are recognized as walls:
The following functions are only possible on ceilings:
Place hanging furniture (e.g. lamps).
The following keywords are recognized as Ceilings:
We recognize windows and glass elements and assign them a corresponding glass material.
The following keywords are recognized as Glass:
Stair elements act like floors, except that furniture cannot be placed on them. Without correctly classified stairs, it is difficult to move in multi-story buildings.
The following keywords are recognized as Stairs:
This category includes all objects that have not been assigned to any other category. These objects are displayed normally but have no special features.
