Meta Account & Pairing with the Meta Quest VR Headset

This section explains how to set up a Meta Account to use Meta Quest 2, 3 & Pro. A Meta Account is required in order to use the Meta Quest VR Headset.

Note: You can create a Meta Account either via the browser or directly via the Meta Quest App. If you subsequently want to connect your Meta Quest to the Meta Account, the direct variant via the Meta Quest App is more efficient, as this step requires the app and cannot be carried out via the browser.

1. Creation of a Meta Account

1a) Creating a Meta Account via the browser
Visit https://auth.meta.com/ to start creating your Meta Account.

There you will find the following options:

Continue with Facebook
Continue with Instagram
Set up an account with an e-mail address

If you already have a Meta Account, you can use it to log in. If you have previously linked your Meta Account to your Facebook Account, you can remove your Facebook Account during the setup process. This will keep your Facebook Account separate from your VR usage.

1b) Creating a Meta Account via the Meta Quest App
Download the Meta Quest App to your smartphone via the Apple Store or Google Play Store. As soon as the app is installed, you can create a Meta Account in the same way as via the browser.

2. Pair VR Headset with Meta Account

As soon as you switch on the VR Headset, you will be guided through the introductory steps of Meta. Towards the end of this process, you will be asked to connect your Meta Account with the corresponding Meta Quest VR Headset. To do this, carry out the following steps:

Remove the VR Headset
Open the Meta Quest App on your cell phone and log in with your Meta Account
Once you have successfully logged in, you can enter the code displayed in the VR Headset directly into the app. If this does not happen automatically, click on "Devices" in the "Menu" and add your Quest as a device.

After successfully connecting your VR Headset to your Meta Account, you can now use them to their full extent.
