Tips for a successful HEGIAS VR import

In the following article you will learn some tips that can help you to create a successful HEGIAS VR scene.

IFC format

We recommend exporting in IFC 2x3 format using the standard translator CV. 2.0 for best compatibility. Detailed export options for various CAD programs can be found on our HEGIAS Support Page.

Classification

In order for the model features to be correctly recognized, all components must already be correctly classified before export. Floors, walls and doors are particularly important. You can find more information about HEGIAS VR component recognition here: Recognize features in model

Open doors

In HEGIAS VR, you can teleport through closed doors. Nevertheless, it is worthwhile to set the door display to open before exporting. Especially in large scenes, open doors facilitate navigation and orientation in VR.

Selected furnishing

Large scenes with several apartments should be furnished schematically or not at all, so that they can be walked through smoothly in VR. Scenes that focus on furnishing, on the other hand, should be limited to individual apartments.

Multiple files per scene

You can add pipes, technical devices or even fixed furnishing to a scene via Files in scene. When doing so, we recommend deactivating the advanced import setting Detect features in model. For pipes, you can also deactivate the generate UV mapping option.
Furthermore, you can combine different supported file formats in one scene
