BMS RoomScanner - Overview
With the BMS RoomScanner App you can scan rooms directly with your smartphone and automatically create a 2D floor plan as well as a 3D model. The app guides you step by step through the entire scanning process and enables direct upload to BMS. || To use the app as a partner, you need a BMS partner account. The registration is described in the article BMS-Partner Onboarding.
1. Getting Started

Start the app Open the BMS RoomScanner App on your iPhone.
On the home screen, you can tap Start scan directly to scan a new room, or access saved scans via Scan history.
Using the profile icon at the top right, you can reach the login and the settings. Sign in Tap the profile icon and sign in with your email address and password.
If you do not yet have an account, follow the instructions for creating an account.
2. Scan a Room
Start scan Tap Start scan.
Follow the on-screen instructions and move slowly through the room.
Save scan After completing the scan, you can give your scan a name (e.g. BMS Scan).
The scan is automatically saved in the Scan history.
View scan history Using the Scan history button on the home screen, you can find all saved scans.
Tap an entry to view details or to continue editing the scan.
3. View and Edit a Scan

When you open a scan, the following functions are available: 3D and 2D view Switch at the bottom between the 3D view and the 2D floor plan.
In the 2D floor plan, dimension chains as well as the calculated area are displayed. Notes In the Notes tab you will find:
- Room Info with automatically calculated area and room height
- General Notes for comments or remarks about the room
- Annotations – remarks can be placed precisely on the plan
- Photos – use the + to add photos of the room, which are saved together with the scan Share Using the share icon at the top right, you can:
- Share PDF – the 2D floor plan as a PDF
- Share 3D Model – the scanned 3D model
4. Upload to BMS

In the scan view, tap Upload. Then select:
- Organisation – the organisation the scan should belong to (e.g. BMS Badplaner)
- Project – tap Select Project and choose an existing project, or create a new one via New Project | Use the search field in the project list to quickly find existing projects.
Create a new project When creating a new project, you enter the customer details:
- Personal details (Salutation, First name, Last name)
- Address (Address, Postal code, City)
- Optionally a separate project address via the toggle
- Contact (Phone, Mobile) Tap Next and enter the customer's email address. After selecting or creating an organisation and project, tap Upload. The scan is then uploaded to BMS in the selected project.
5. Settings
In the Settings section you will find:
- Information about your Login / account
- Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
- The option to sign out or to delete your account
